Barbara Ann (Seisler) Goodling, 88, of Wyomissing, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at her residence at The Highlands at Wyomissing, Berk County.  She was the wife of Evans C. Goodling.  Barbara was a 1955 graduate of  Governor Mifflin High School and was awarded her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from the Pennsylvania State University at State College, Pennsylvania, on June 6, 1959. She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Morgantown, Pa., having served as parish junior and senior wardens as well as teaching children’s Sunday School.  Barbara was an active member of the Berks History Center and served for several years as a museum docent.  She also enjoyed flower gardening around her residence and as a member of the Reading Garden Club and the Reading Museum. 

Besides her husband, Barbara is survived by two sons, Dennis Robert Goodling who lives in Wyomissing and David Evans Goodling husband of Jenna Hershey who live in Lancaster with their daughters Sophia Elizabeth and Isabela Marie.   Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Edna (Neatock) Seisler, a brother, Paul Seisler and his wife Beverly (Wawrzyniak) and by her nephew Shawn Seisler.

Barbara taught home economics at Newport High School, Newport, Pa. and later at Dillsburg High School, at Dillsburg in York County before taking leave to raise her two sons, first in York County and later in San Antonio, Texas, where the Goodling family relocated in 1965 following Evans’ job transfer to Kelly Air Force Base, where he was employed as an aerospace engineer for the next four years.

In 1969, Barbara and Evans and their two sons moved back to PA to enable Barbara to assume a management position at the Albert Seisler Machine Corporation, where she served as CEO for the next 36 years in partnership with her brother Paul Seisler, shop manager.  In her family and corporate responsibilities, Barbara took an active part in the Pennsylvania State activities of the National Association of Independence Business.  In 2005, Barbara and her  brother Paul Seisler, Co-Owners, sold the Seisler firm and retired from active employment.

In 2009, Barbara and Evans sold their residence in Brecknock Township and moved into The Highlands at Wyomissing, a retirement community, where Barbara passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving husband and sons.  Barbara and Evans would have been married for 67 years on June 20, 2026, at the time of her passing, enjoying many years of world-wide travel and having visited seven continents during their marriage and after retirement.

Burial will take place in the Memorial Garden at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Morgantown, PA, at the convenience of the family, on Saturday May 23, 2026. Following the burial, visitors will be received after 10 AM  in the parish hall, followed by a service of Holy Communion at 11 AM in the church; all visitors will be welcome to participate.
