William Jeffrey "Jeff" Miller

William Jeffrey “Jeff” Miller, 74, of Elverson, died on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Reading Hospital. He was born in Pottstown on January 18, 1952. Jeff was the oldest son of the late Harold Paul “Buss” and Margaret Jane (Peck) Miller.

He was the husband of Mary Rita (Murphy) Miller, with whom he shared 48 loving years of marriage. In his youth, Jeff played multiple sports at Twin Valley, including soccer and he was the captain of the bowling team. Jeff was a proud graduate of Twin Valley High School, Lehigh University, and Villanova University. He was a partner at Evans Mill Environmental, LLC, and held professional associations with PASEO and NOWRA.

Jeff was active with the Boy Scouts of America and was honored with multiple lifetime awards including the Silver Beaver award from the Chester County council. He was active in the former Elverson Fire Company, where he responded to calls as both EMS and Fire, then served as the president of the fire company. He was known by many as the starter for the swim meets at the Twin Valley Recreation Association, where he also served many years as the vice president. As a proud father, Jeff coached his children in many sports including fishing, scuba diving, swimming, soccer, and bowling. Jeff was an avid dog lover and raised many loving pups, his current dog Casper misses him every day. Growing up on Sunnyside dairy gave him the drive, work ethic, and determination he lived his life by. A lifelong believer in helping others, Jeff was an organ donor, and his family is honored that he could provide this 'gift of life' to those in need.

Jeff was a regular morning guest at the Chick-fil-A I work at in Wyomissing! We always joked and had fun when he came in to get his spicy chicken, egg, and cheese biscuit and his frosted coffee. He was always super friendly and kind. Prayers of peace and comfort for his family and friends. You will be missed, brother!

Mary Rita and family, Our hearts are broken for you at this difficult time. We admired Jeff's dedication to his family, scouts, his work, swim team, his beloved dogs and so much more. I especially admired his work with the special needs scouts. He showed his tender heart while still maintaining the goals in scouting for each scout. I'll miss his big dives into the pool to do his laps. May he rest in eternal peace.

Mary Rita and family, I am so very sorry for the loss of such a really special man. I think Emily was six or seven when we joined the pool. From the summers of swim team and the many years of scouting with Troop 37, Jeff was a big part of all of it. He talked me into being secretary of the troop for years and being a merit badge counselor. I remember how amazed I was that he would bring the boys back for the swim meet during scout camp and then take them right back. But that was Jeff. Jeff’s family was always front and center for him. Such a gift! It’s truly amazing how many lives Jeff has touched in so many ways. His sense of humor was infectious. Whatever I can do for you now, please just ask. You have my heartfelt condolences. Mary Rita and family, We offer our prayers and condolences to all of you. Jeff was a guy who will be missed by all of us who knew him. He devoted so much time to volunteering and helping others, often without any acknowledgement. We feel fortunate that we were able to reconnnect with him after moving back to Elverson a few years ago. We’ll Always look fondly back to our family dinners at the farm and summer get togethers. We are blessed that he was in our lives since he and Ann were little kids together on the family farm. God Bless you and your family, knowing that Jeff is at peace. Love, Ann and Ray

Mary Rita - life is too short! I have always enjoyed my encounters with Jeff, a guy who loved to tease and I enjoyed dishing it right back to him. Watching the two of you at the pool are some good memories for me. And to his children - your Dad was something else! He was such a family man. He will be missed!! Life is far too short. You will all be in our prayers as Lynn and I are thinking and praying for you.

Mary Rita and family - So sorry for your loss. Reading the remembrances it struck me that Jeff shared my mom's/his Aunt Po's belief that we are placed on this earth to help others! What a way to honor his belief - what a gift to others - the gift of organ donation. He will be missed, but may pleasant memories comfort you during this difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Mary Beth & John Miele

I am very sorry for your loss. I’ve known Jeff for some time through Cardiac Rehab. I looked forward to seeing him each Tuesday and Friday morning. We talked about many topics, including Penn State football, Twin Valley football, his dog who he enjoyed walking for several miles before coming to rehab. Jeff usually engaged everyone, from the nurses to the patients, in conversation. I’ll remember our last conversation on Tuesday, Jan. 20. He will be greatly missed. Jeff and his family will be in my prayers. May he rest in peace.

Very sorry to hear about Mr. Miller. So many great memories in Boy Scouts. He was our main bus driver to many camping trips. I still remember having to drive the Ranger home from Camp Horseshoe the one year I think he broke his leg. Such an honor that he trusted me. I remember how much speed he could get out of that old bus with stick shift all the chuck boxes fly in the air lol. I remember the one winter camp at that old Boy Scout camp when the older boys got to watch Last of the Moekens and Mr Miller yelled at us for watching through the window out side. Between him and Mr Simmonetti and my Dad were the pillars of Troop 37! Thoughts and prayers to your whole family and if you like to reach out I am here to talk to. Troop 37 was a great time in my life and Mr Miller was a big part of me becoming the man I am. Thank you Mr Miller!
