Helen C. Elmer, 99 yrs., passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Zerbe Sisters Retirement Community in Narvon.
She was born in Glenmoore, Pa. and was the wife of the late Vernon K. “Dutch” Elmer, who died on October 4, 2019.
Helen was a seamstress sewing parachutes during WWII at the former Frank Ix Silk Mills in New Holland and worked at other sewing factories. She was a member of the Silver Belle Dance Group. Helen enjoyed painting, craft and sewing projects and crocheting baby blankets for Project Lioness and camping with Pappy and their Grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Robert K. Elmer (Diane) of Lancaster, two daughters, Linda Collins-Annan (Lloyd) of Millersville and Shirley Martini (Gene) of Denver. She had four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
