Constance L. "Connie" Eells

Constance L. “Connie” Eells, 87 yrs. of Honey Brook passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 19, 2025, surrounded by the love and care of her family.

Born on August 1, 1937, in Columbia, PA, Connie was the beloved daughter of the late Catherine A. (Yentzer) Smoker and devoted wife of the late Thomas S. Eells, with whom she shared more than 49 wonderful years of marriage.

A 1955 graduate of the Scottland School for Veterans’ Children, Connie went on to earn her nursing degree from Germantown Hospital School of Nursing in 1958. She began her career as a Public Health Registered Nurse in Philadelphia and later served in the Intensive Care Unit at Coatesville Hospital. She continued her career at the V.A. Medical Center, where she proudly cared for veterans - a cause close to her heart. In her 50s, she achieved her master's degree in nursing, graduating Summa Cum Laude, a testament to her lifelong love of learning and dedication to her profession.

Connie shared her passion for music, was a master of multiple instruments, and a member of the chime choir at Tel Hai Retirement Community. She also enjoyed country line dancing and volunteered for twenty years at Rainbow Elementary School, where she touched the lives of countless children.

Above all, Connie deeply loved her family and friends. Known as “Mom” and “Gma,” she selflessly served others throughout her life with a kind heart and a gentle spirit, never expecting anything in return. A true angel of compassion and grace, she led by quiet example. Even into her late 80s, Connie had a vibrant energy, walking many miles a day through the halls of Tel Hai, greeting everyone she met with a smile, right up until a few weeks before her passing.

Connie was patriotic and a proud supporter of her country. She instilled in her family the values of gratitude, service, and love for America and history.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jereme Schubel and her brothers, George and Jerry Smoker.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne L. Brewer (Richard) of Elverson; her son, Thomas W. Eells (Halla) of Coatesville; two granddaughters, Connie Lemois (Brandon); Christina Colyer (John); eight great-grandchildren, Sierra, Jayden, Savannah, Owen, Olivia, Channing, Emerson, and Silas; one great-great-grandson, Weston; and two brothers Bill and John Smoker.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at 2:00pm in the Chapel at Tel Hai Retirement Community, 1200 Tel Hai Circle, Honey Brook, PA, with Chaplain Dave Hicks officiating. Friends and Family are invited to gather from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service. Refreshments will follow, just as Connie wished, as she treasured time spent in fellowship with loved ones. Internment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Connie’s memory to the Tel Hai Care Assurance Fund, PO Box 190, Honey Brook, PA 19344-0190.

Add My Condolences

I have only the best memories of “Aunt Connie”. My parents, Bill and Kay LaMon were best friends to Tom and Connie Eells. I cannot remember a time when Aunt Connie and Uncle Tommy were a part of my family. Aunt Connie was among the kindest people I have ever known.

I am sad to learn of Connie's passing. I have memories of delivering mail to Connie at her apartment during the COVID restrictions. Connie always had a kind word. She enjoyed walking and we would often pass in the corridors. My deepest sympathy to your family.
