Charles F. “Butch” Bernard, 80 yrs. of Honey Brook, died on Monday, March 10, 2025 at the Chester County Hospital.
Butch was born in Coatesville on Wednesday, March 22, 1944. He was the son of the late Charles H. and Rose (Ford) Bernard. Butch was the husband of B. Jane (Hartenstine) Bernard, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.
He retired after 35 years as an electrician at the former Lukens Steel. Butch and his family were the proud owners of the Bernard’s Tree Farm, supplying many local families with their fresh cut Christmas trees. He loved hunting, fishing, traveling and bird watching with Jane. Butch enjoyed taking his dog Barney for runs on the farm.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Clevenstine.
Butch is survived by his three sons, Wade Bernard and Wes Bernard both of Honey Brook and Tom and his wife Janet Bernard of Elverson. There are 3 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 from 10 AM to 11:30 AM at The Labs Funeral Home, Inc., 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa. A graveside service will follow at 12 PM from the Fairview Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Glenmoore, Pa., with Pastor Brad Miller officiating.
