I have a lot of fond memories in my youth riding around Uncle George's big property in his golf utility cart during his retirement. He would always write his daily tasks on the back of an envelope and check them off one by one. I never had a grandfather and he was like a grandfather figure to me. He bought me an HO train set when I was around 8 or so and for years I was obsessed with this hobby. I spent hours working on this train set. I setup a 4'x8' board in my bedroom. I still have stamp sets that he had given me. But the biggest impression left on me was his heart and boldness for sharing how one can know they will enter heaven. I can count on my hand the number of people that influenced me in this area and he is one of about three. If you are reading this and you don't know where you are going after you die, please consider the following. Life is short, even if you are blessed with a long one like George had, do you know where you are going when you pass from this earth? The Bible says we are all sinners on our way to hell and eternal separation from God (Romans 3:23). It also tells us that good works can't get us into heaven (Ephesians 2:8-9). So what is the solution? George's favorite Bible verse was John 3:16 which he said was framed on his wall as a child. Please read this verse today as the solution and God's love is shown in His free gift for us. We just need to receive it by trusting Jesus. For if you simply believe Jesus died on the cross for your sins and rose again you will be saved and all sins forgiven so you too will enter heaven (Romans 10:9)!
