Dolores P. (Jirak) Player, 90 years old, of Honey Brook, passed away at the Meadows Healthcare Center at the Tel Hai Retirement Community, on Friday, December 6, 2024, surrounded by loving family while under hospice care.
She was born on Friday, November 30, 1934 in Philadelphia, Pa. Dolores was the daughter of the late Frank W. Jirak, Sr. and Vera C. (Palmer) Jirak. She was the wife of the late Kenneth W. “Ken” Player, who died on Friday, December 8, 2023.
Dolores was a homemaker to her beloved family. In retirement, Ken and Dolores moved to the Tel Hai Retirement Community. She
became active in volunteer work there. She was part of the decorations, worship and birthday committees, the Christmas gift delivery team, just to name a few of her volunteer efforts. Dolores enjoyed painting, ceramics, knitting, reading, bird watching and nature. Most of all, she loved to be with her family and spending time with them. Dolores had a deep sense of faith and attended Tel Hai Chapel.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Whinam Player on October 10, 2022 and two brothers, Frank W. Jirak, Jr. and Raymond Jirak.
She is survived by a daughter, Cindy and her husband Fred Snyder of Nottingham. There are 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A calling hour will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 10 to 11 AM at the Chapel of the Tel Hai Retirement Community, 3100 Tel Hai Circle, Honey Brook, Pa. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM at Tel Hai Chapel with Pastor David Hicks and Pastor David Klingensmith, Jr. officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Dolores to the Tel Hai Care Assurance Fund, PO Box 190, Honey Brook, Pa. 19344-0190.
