Daniel R Berkey, Sr., 87 yrs. of Honey Brook passed peacefully on July 16, 2024 at his sons home, while under the loving care of his family and hospice.
He was born in Glenmoore on Friday, October 2, 1936. Daniel was the son of the late Diller and Mamie (Hagamon) Berkey. He was the husband of the late Betty J. (Slaymaker) Berkey, who died on July 19, 2017.
Daniel was a truck driver for Samuel Rice/BFI Trucking. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pequea. Daniel enjoyed hunting, fishing, yardwork and traveling.
He is survived by three sons, Daniel R. Berkey Jr., Mark L. Berkey and Michael Berkey all of Honey Brook. There are six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 11 AM from The Labs Funeral Home, Inc., 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa., with Pastor Clinton Shondelmyer officiating. Interment will follow at the Pequea Baptist Cemetery. A calling hour will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Daniel to First Baptist Church of Pequea, 6062 Old Philadelphia Pike, Gap, Pa. 17527.
