Mabel S. Reese

Mabel S. Reese, 72 yrs., of Morgantown, died on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Lancashire Hall in Lancaster, following a long illness.

 

Born on April 21, 1939 in Dubois, Pa., she was the daughter of the late James E. and Sarah Elizabeth (Daugherty) Delp. Mabel was the wife of Patrick J. Reese, with whom she shared 27 years marriage.

 

She was the clerk at the district justice office in Honey Brook for many years.  Mabel was a member of the Honey Brook United Methodist Church, were she sang in the choir and was active in many church activities.  She also enjoyed reading, counted cross-stitch. Mabel was known as a talented musician and for cooking for her beloved family.

 

Her son, John L. Simpson and a brother, Paul E. Delp, preceded her in death.

 

Mabel is survived in addition to her husband, by 2 sons; Paul A. Simpson, Jr. of Uwchland and James A. “Andy” Simpson of Flourtown; a daughter, Kathryn May Jenkins of Alabama; a brother, Jode “Bud” Delp of Honey Brook; a sister, Joyce E. Kier of Bath, Pa.  There are 7 grandchildren, Sean, Eric, Keith, Allen, Steven, Alyssa, and Anthony and 2 great grandchildren, Lilly and Molly.

 

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 3:30PM from the Honey Brook Methodist Cemetery.  There will be no public viewing or funeral home service.

 

The Labs Funeral Home, Inc. of Honey Brook is in charge of arrangements.

Mabel was my closest friend for 56 years and will be sorely missed by both of us. I have many items in my home that she made for me with her many talents and creativity. She played the organ for our wedding ceremony also. Rest in peace, Mabel. We love you.
