Kathryn A. “Chook” Leisey, 91 yrs, of Honey Brook, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Fairmount Homes in Ephrata, following an illness.
She was born on Nov. 29, 1925 in Honey Brook Twp., Chester Co., Pa. Chook was the daughter of the late Paul H. and Mabelle K. (Dukeman) Simpson. She was the wife of the late Melvin T. “Meb” Leisey, who died on May 8, 2005.
Chook was a homemaker to her beloved family. She attended the Honey Brook Methodist Church and was a member of the O.E.S., Samuel Fear Chapter #417.
Chook was preceded in death by a son, James R. Leisey and a brother, P. Allen Simpson.
Surviving are 2 sons, Thomas M. (Cheri) Leisey and Larry R. (Linda) Leisey, two sisters, Evelyn I. Spencer and Nancy L. Max all of Honey Brook. There are 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11 AM from The Labs Funeral Home, Inc., 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa., with Pastor Ray Voran officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mark’s Episcopal Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
