John A. Romano John A. Romano, 87 years, of Martins Corner, died on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Meadows Health Care Center at the Tel Hai Retirement Community.
 
He was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 11, 1926.  John was the son of the late Carmine and Mary (Delia) Romano.  He was the husband of Elizabeth M. (Gannon) Romano, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.

John was a retired self-employed stonemason.  He did restoration work on many historical buildings in the Chester Country area. John served his county proudly in the United States Marine Corps 3rd Division, during WWII in Guam and China.  He enjoyed flowers, gardening, and rock music. John was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.  All those who knew John, will remember him as a loving family man and as a dear and kind person.

He is survived in addition to his wife by 2 sons; Carmen and John Romano; 2 daughters, Michele Campbell and Maria Romano; 2 sisters, Ann Ailtmar and Carmela Causey.  There are also 10 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 11 AM from St. Peter Catholic Church, 2835 Manor Road, West Brandywine, Pa.  19320.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.  A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 AM on Thursday at the church.
